The alarm system has a bulit-in speaker and microphone that allow audio monitoring or two-way conversations with the central station operator and is activated only when an alarm signal is detected.
This important technology has been crucial in receiving faster response times with the local emergency authorities and has also been a key factor in minimizing false alarms. The process is really quite simple: When the alarm is triggered, the control panel sends a signal to the monitoring center. The microphone and peaker is activated and usually within a few seconds a central station operator will begin speaking to you through the panel. They will immediatley ask you for your verbal password. If the alarm has been a mistake or a "false alarm," you'll simply supply your password for identification and any dispatch of the authorities will be immediatley canceled. Failure to supply the correct password or any password at all will result in immediate dispatch of the police. Utilizing this technology the operator can quickly identify and confirm the emergency, resulting in faster, higher-priority response by the authorities.
