![]() Carbon Monoxide (CO) Sensor provides early warning of dangerous carbon monoxide gas levels. If a dangerous concentration of gas is detected, a red indicator light turns on and an internal siren is activated. A pre-alarm warning feature indicates low levels of CO, and reports information to the alarm panel. The CO alarm also transmits an alarm signal to the control panel within 15 seconds of detecting CO gas. The control panel activates its own sirens and reports the alarm to FLEX ALARM's central monitoring station who will then contact you. Carbon monoxide (CO) is a colorless, odorless, poisonous gas that is produced by the incomplete burning of solid, liquid, and gaseous fuels. Often referred to as the ‘Silent Killer’ due to the fact that you cannot see or smell carbon monoxide, CO poisoning kills nearly 500 people each year. The early symptoms of CO poisoning include severe headaches, dizziness, confusion, nausea, shortness of breath and even fainting. Because many of the symptoms are also similar to those of the flu or other illnesses it is important to quickly and accurately identify whether or not CO poisoning is the cause.
While Carbon Monoxide detectors provide early warnings of potential danger, they should be considered a back-up AND NOT A REPLACEMENT FOR PROPER USE AND MAINTENANCE of fuel-burning appliances. Available as an add-on piece of equipment for any of the STANDARD, CELLULAR INTERACTIVE, ENERGY MANAGEMENT, or HOME CONTROL plans. |
