More and more homes are choosing to go without a land-line telephone and are opting instead to use only their cell phones. This has posed a real problem for security system users in the past as the majority of existing security systems require a land-line phone in order for the alarm to be monitored by their monitoring company. Fortunately, thanks to technological advances in the security industry, our systems no longer require the use of a land-line phone. Instead a cellular device is installed within the control panel of the system. This allows the alarm signals to be sent to the monitoring system wirelessly. This is important because it doesn't take a rocket scientist to realize that a simple "snip, snip" of the phone line from the box on the outside of your home will completely disable and prevent the alarm from communicating with the monitoring company.
Cellular monitoring was first introduced as a back-up in case your phone line was disabled. Later, for those without a phone line, it became the primary means of communication. Up until recently, the two-way voice feature was not available through cellular monitoring. With the technology of todays' security equipment, a user can enjoy quick response times, less false alarms, and a more reliable and less vulnerable security system. Available in the CELLULAR INTERACTIVE, ENERGY MANAGEMENT, and HOME CONTROL plans. |
